NancyAnn’s Chocolate Cake Recipe

We LOVE this served hot, straight out of the oven! It’s just SO moist and tasty! It’s also very good to frost after it’s cooled.

Nancy Ann's Sour Cream Chocolate Cake Recipe (This is Randall White’s favorite!)

2 c flour

2 c sugar

1 1/4 t baking soda

1 t salt

1/2 t baking powder

Stir together the dry ingredients just to mix them.

1 c water

3/4 c sour cream (can use non-dairy yogurt, if needed)

1/2 c crisco

2 eggs

Mix these wet ingredients into the dry ingredients with your mixer for about 30-60 seconds on a lower setting.

3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa (Hershey’s is our fave, usually)

Mix this into your wet ingredients with mixer.  Keep mixing for another 1-2 minutes on a higher speed - it really helps add air to the batter, it'll get a little lighter in color.

Greased and floured 9x13 pan

350 degree oven

bake 35 minutes or until wooden tooth pic comes out clean.
